Visy Crane Gate is the desktop management application at the center of Visy’s crane OCR systems. It gives operators and supervisors direct, real-time visibility into all container handling events captured by Visy OCR systems – including recognized container IDs, ISO codes, dangerous goods labels, seal presence, door direction, and images from all container sides.

All recognition results are presented in a clear, structured interface where events can be reviewed, edited, and exported. When the OCR system raises an exception – a missing ID, a mismatch, or a flagged dangerous goods label – Crane Gate is where it is handled. The application connects directly with the TOS, ensuring that verified and corrected data flows into the terminal’s systems without delay.

Real-time event monitoring

Container handling events captured by Visy OCR systems are displayed in real-time in Visy Crane Gate. Operators and supervisors can follow lift-by-lift activity as it happens – with recognized container IDs, ISO codes, and other attributes immediately visible alongside the captured images.

Image review and inspection

High-quality images from all imaged container sides are accessible directly in the application. Images can be reviewed event by event, supporting container condition inspection, liability documentation, and exception resolution. See also Visy ADDS for automated container damage detection.

Exception handling

When the OCR system raises an exception – an unrecognized ID, a dangerous goods label, a seal discrepancy, or a TOS mismatch – Crane Gate presents it for immediate review and action. Operators can correct, confirm, or escalate events directly in the application, keeping data flowing to the TOS accurately and without delay.

Data editing and export

Recognition results can be reviewed and edited within the application. Event data and images can be exported for reporting, audit trails, and integration with third-party systems. Extensive TOS interfacing – supporting integrations with any TOS – ensures smooth data exchange across the terminal.

Visy Wharf App – Communication and guidance for crane operators

Visy Wharf App streamlines communication and operational accuracy during vessel loading and discharge. Integrated with the N4 TOS, the app delivers the right information to crane operators at the right time – for every lift. Loading instructions are provided both visually and in audio. The app notifies operators of arrived terminal tractors, informs them during discharge whether a container is planned for discharge or not – eliminating false lifts – and provides early container ID verification through Visy TopView. Completed moves are automatically confirmed back to the TOS.

Visy Pinning App – Twistlock task support for lashers

Visy Pinning App gives lashers precise, up-to-date instructions for twistlock operations, reducing manual errors and improving safety at the quayside. Integrated with the N4 TOS, the app retrieves container information, required lock types, and destination data automatically. Instructions are tied directly to the terminal tractor’s task and the containers loaded onto it, ensuring lashers always work from accurate, current information.

Visy Crane Gate – Wharf Dispatcher View

Wharf Dispatcher View gives coordinators full visibility and control of loading operations from a single interface. Loading sequences are managed centrally, all terminal tractors are visible in real time, and direct communication with crane operators via Visy Wharf App keeps the quayside team aligned. Event images can be checked on the spot, exceptions handled immediately, and overall loading progress monitored continuously.
