Visy Train Gate is the desktop management application at the center of the Visy Rail OCR Portal system. As trains move through the portal, all captured data – wagon IDs, container IDs, ISO codes, dangerous goods labels, cargo types, and images – is made available in Train Gate in real time, giving operators a complete and structured overview of every train visit without manual input.
The core value of Train Gate is the automatic reconciliation of captured data against pre-announced train manifests. When the TOS detects differences between the pre-informed details and the data captured at the premises – a missing container, an unrecognized wagon, or a dangerous goods discrepancy – it flags the event for exception handling. Operators can immediately access the relevant images and captured data to verify whether a correction or escalation is needed, keeping the TOS accurate and operations running without disruption.
All data and images are exchanged with the Terminal Operating System and other third-party systems in real time, including customs and X-ray inspection systems, making Train Gate the integration point between physical train traffic and the terminal’s information network.
